About
Julia Garcia, soprano, is currently based in Manhattan, New York. Ms. Garcia is known for the versatility of her voice, as she has performed operatic roles from many different musical eras and time periods. She is beginning to delve into some Wagnerian repertoire, as her most recent engagement is role of Elsa from Richard Wagner’s Lohengrin with New York Dramatic Voices.
An up and coming young soprano, 2022 was an eventful season as she covered the role of Fiordiligi in Così fan tutte at Wiener Festspiele in Vienna, Austria and performed at Mozarthaus Wien. She also made her International Concert House-Debut at Divaldo na Vinohradech in Prague, Czech Republic under the baton of Jaroslav Kyzlink, Music Director of the National Theater Prague, where she was hailed for her performance of Tatyana’s Letter Scene from Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin. As a Voice Fellow in Opernfest Prague, she also had the opportunity to work with notable Czech director Dr. Martin Otava, and conductors Zdeněk Klauda, and Enrico Dovico. Ms. Garcia also performed scene work in Così fan tutte (Fiordiligi), La Bohème (Mimì), Don Giovanni (Donna Anna), La clemenza di Tito (Servilia), Le nozze di Figaro (Contessa), and Giulio Cesare (Cleopatra) at Opera Lucca in Lucca, Italy.
